It turns out playing World of Warcraft really puts a strain on your computer... Over this past year my crappy DELL machine has had three seperate hardware failures.
Yesterday - was the final straw. The core CPU died. (oh by the way, I have fallen off the Wagon and I been playing WoW for the past two weeks).
Ladygoat and I hope to be able to update this website- but we can't access our many tasty photos right now.
(never buy a Dell- its like going to Walmart)
Yeah, that sounds like Dell to me.
ReplyDeleteDude - you got screwed by a Dell.
ReplyDeleteYou need to build your own bad-assed gaming box. It's cheaper and you get an awsome computer out of the deal...
In the old days, I enjoyed putting together my own computer. I don't have the time to do that anymore - plus once your family finds out you can put together computers, you become the family tech. support. Thats unfun :)
ReplyDeletenot if you tell them they have to pay you a fee...my rates start at $30/hr plus the cost of the parts. If they take me up on it great..if not...well...
ReplyDeleteI stopped being nice when it comes to my "geek powers" long ago!
Sigh, my wife has gone in to Second Life and hasn't come out in a month or two. Her old Dell wasn't up to the job (still works fine, still hate Dell anyway) so I bought her a new rig from a local shop. I'm with you, tired of building machines. Did hardware for 24 years and now let someone else deal with it. I don't have the time or inclination to even look inside anymore. My local shop will repair any problem with their machine that day for nothing. That's good enough for me.
