It's another icky hot summer day here in Cleveland, when all I really want to eat is ice cream. We've been sampling the various ice cream novelty treats, from Klondikes to lemon ice to things on sticks, but so far I can't pass up a Drumstick. It's ice cream! In a cone! With a chocolate coating! Brilliant.

Most of them are coated in poison (Foodgoat tells me I'm missing something wonderful in the peanut-ice cream combination), so my personal range of choices from that line are somewhat limited. Still, I can have the cookies and cream flavor, and the mint looks very promising. Skip the triple chocolate though - I think just being near it causes diabetes, and besides, it lacks that chococate shell that's so satisfying to break through.

I believe Honey Hut has drumsticks--although I haven't had one yet this summer, so am not sure. If they do, they're great (and large).

I wrote an entire blog entry on the passions of eating a Fudgesicle. Read it at the above link!

I agree. A drumstick is the perfect mix between brilliance and creativity. The person responsible for creating this decedant treat should run for congress!

mmmm, the Honey Hutt Ice Cream Shoppe... my fave!!!

I always get a large coconut ice cream w/ hot fudge & salted spanish peanuts on it. You can make it an "Almond Joy" by getting the salted roasted Almonds instead. Either way, yummy!

I agree that drumsticks beat other ice cream products by about a mile and a half. It gives you that sweet challenge and eventual satisfaction of having to break its delicious wafer walls before you could get to its creamy core.

Ice cream cups couldn’t possibly give you such pleasure of having to tear down something with your lips and tongue before you could feast on your ultimate goal. Well, maybe it could, if your spoon is made of wafer, and its plastic container is edible.
